Serving our Community
The Cranbourne Food Truck provides free food and fellowship to the needy and disadvantaged of the Cranbourne area and our aim is to make our clients feel socially included in a community which is caring and supportive of their needs.
Commencing in January 2012 our cheerful and caring volunteers provide hot meals, fruit, vegetables and non-perishable food parcels four nights per week.
On Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays the Truck is in the Lyall St carpark from 6.30pm – 8pm and on Fridays in the carpark of the childcare centre opposite the Coles loading bay in Duff St, Cranbourne West from 6.45pm – 8pm
The Cranbourne Food Truck is owned and run by the Cranbourne Regional Uniting Church and we are supported by Uniting Community Services, the Cranbourne Rotary Club and other service clubs, churches, schools and businesses.
Volunteers must be 18 years or older and are rostered on the truck one night or two nights per month depending on your availability. A ‘Working with Children’s’ check and a Food Safety certificate are necessary for all our volunteers.
Our drivers need a light rigid truck licence and our cooks require a Level 1 Food Handling Certificate.
Sponsorship is always very much appreciated, in both money and in kind. The Truck’s ongoing costs include fuel, maintenance, insurance and registration, as well as food and power.
